Can a dish ever be too popular? The black pepper sticky ribs from the Walua Social Club were so popular, their chefs decided they needed their own spot. This dish had humble beginnings and won the hearts of the people at the Hawai'i Kuauli Pacific & Asia Cultural Festival 2024 Taste of Pacific & Asia with the peoples choice award. From there, the dish found a home at Chef Yamamoto & Alessandro Taras's Walua Social Club. After it became one of the most popular appetizers on the menu, they kept getting asked one question over and over again... where is the rice? Chef Yamamoto is giving the people what they want, and created a local style plate lunch around our black pepper sticky ribs. These plates will be served with rice, and housemade banchans.
